WIOA Funding
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, commonly known as WIOA, is a federal workforce program designed to help eligible job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services. WIOA services are administered through local workforce offices, and eligibility is reviewed individually. The U.S. Department of Labor states that Adult and Dislocated Worker services are delivered through the American Job Center network and that some services have eligibility requirements that must be reviewed locally.

Texas Training School is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges, Austin, Texas. Students interested in WIOA or workforce funding should contact their local Workforce Solutions office to determine eligibility and funding availability.

Important: Funding is not guaranteed. A student pursuing WIOA funding may not start an online program until WIOA funding is approved. The catalog also states that WIOA looks at each person’s case individually and students must complete required WIOA paperwork to determine eligibility.
WIOA Adult Program
The WIOA Adult Program may assist eligible adults who need employment, education, training, or support services to improve their employment opportunities. Priority for certain WIOA Adult services is generally given to recipients of public assistance, other low-income individuals, individuals who are basic-skills deficient, and veterans as applicable.

Individuals may be asked by the local Workforce Solutions office to provide documents related to age, identity, work authorization, Selective Service status if applicable, income, public assistance, employment status, education, or other eligibility factors.

Who may qualify
WIOA Dislocated Worker Program
The WIOA Dislocated Worker Program is designed to help eligible workers return to employment after job loss, layoff, business closure, economic change, or other qualifying dislocation. The U.S. Department of Labor describes the Dislocated Worker program as a program that helps workers return to work after job loss, mass layoffs, global trade dynamics, or transitions in economic sectors.

A person may be considered for Dislocated Worker services if they have experienced circumstances such as layoff, termination, business closure, reduced employment, displacement from self-employment, or other qualifying workforce disruption. The local Workforce Solutions office determines whether a person qualifies.

Do not assume eligibility based only on unemployment, layoff, or income status. Each case must be reviewed by the local Workforce Solutions office.
How It Works
Important Student Notice
WIOA-funded students follow the same academic, attendance, conduct, and completion requirements as other students. Texas Training School programs are online distance education programs, and students are expected to make regular progress in their coursework.
For students receiving WIOA funding, the catalog states that any Leave of Absence must be approved by the school and assigned Workforce case manager, and the maximum Leave of Absence is 90 calendar days within a 12-month period.
WIOA and workforce funding are not guaranteed. Eligibility, documentation requirements, funding availability, program approval, and final funding decisions are determined by the local Workforce Solutions office or sponsoring agency. Texas Training School does not determine WIOA eligibility and cannot guarantee that a student will receive funding. Students pursuing WIOA funding may not start an online program until funding is approved. Texas Training School does not guarantee certification, licensure, employment, wages, or job placement.
Step 1: Contact Texas Training School
Speak with our admissions team and let us know that you are interested in WIOA or workforce funding.
Step 2: Contact your local Workforce Solutions office
Your local Workforce Solutions office will review eligibility, funding availability, required documentation, and whether your selected training program may be funded.
Step 3: Complete required workforce paperwork
Students pursuing WIOA funding must complete all required paperwork and follow the instructions provided by the Workforce Solutions office or sponsoring agency.
Step 4: Wait for funding approval
A student may not begin an online program until WIOA funding is approved.
Step 5: Complete enrollment
After funding approval is confirmed, accepted students complete Texas Training School’s enrollment process and begin on an available Monday start date, except when the Monday is a published school holiday.
